Hello one and all, 98.6 Readers.
Couple of things I wanted to share to keep you all updated & informed as much as I can.
I will be traveling by myself to Buffalo, New York on Sunday the 17th as I have been invited to speak at a youth group for 20-30 teenagers. One of my very good friends lives up that way and is the leader at her church youth group. I have prepared a message basically ‘dove-tailing’ several 98.6 Too Cold blogs & am FOCUSED on challenging the men and women Sunday night. Please keep me in your prayers!
I haven’t been as free as usual to post some new material ‘blog-wise’ (though I have several terrific topics planned I assure you) because I have been putting time and effort into a short film I am getting produced and edited professionally. The clip will be based off of ‘Noahzite Nation’, a previous blog of mine. I’m filming Thursday the 21st most likely and it will hopefully be up by Christmas time so please keep that in your prayers as well!
- My friend from school (Nyack College) where I attained my undergraduate degree, wrote up a quick ‘rant’ you could say of the subject of success she is passionate about. It’s a rough, “messy” (as she described it) draft of a script but I love it nonetheless. I will share a few lines down below. I hope to possibly connect more of her work with 98.6 in the future as her heart is also driven by God to open hearts & minds.
- One of my closest friends and fellow blogger & contributor of this blog, Larry Shaw, will be diving into a series on the book of Romans that he feels God has placed on his heart to pursue. We’d probably admit it is mutually our favorite book of the Bible. And it could not be a better place to search and learn from regarding the topic of lukewarm Christianity. So be on the look-out for his posts coming shortly!
“I want to be successful. But not just successful on paper; more than my Facebook profile tells people. When people read, “Sydney McIntosh, 20 years old, College Athlete, GPA 3.5” Hey, that sounds pretty good. My relationship status says I have a boyfriend, in my pictures and posts I’m smiling. Looks pretty good, but people- having a successful life is so much more.
Don’t plan. As a woman, I like to plan things. My outfit for tomorrow. My wedding on Pinterest. What my kids are going to be named, how I will raise them. What I’m going to eat, and not eat so that I’m super skinny. Honestly, ask yourself- how much time do you spend planning, instead of praying? “
“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?… So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
