“As if I don’t recognize enough disturbing, lukewarm behaviors exhibited by Christians, this is one that is witnessed perhaps the most. Once a week we enter a building, sing lyrics that we’re not even meditating on (pointless worship), throw money in a basket we’d honestly rather keep in our own wallets, run to the bathroom when it’s the designated time to meet & greet others in the congregation we don’t know, hang out with our phone app store during the sermon or dose off then immediately following the concluding words we bounce as quick as possible.
It’s probably the one day of the week we even consider opening up our dusty shelve-ridden bibles. The harsh truth is you might as well stay at home unless you’re going to live out your faith outside the four walls of the church. Get real with yourself. Don’t wear the ‘Christian logo’ on your chest just because you were raised that way or want to seem a little more holy than others who don’t believe. 1 Corinthians 12:27 makes it clear we’re the body of Christ. The church isn’t a building. It’s a community.
Go be the hands and feet of Jesus & dedicate seven whole days to Him.
It’s that or just don’t bother showing up to church once a week.”
