This past weekend was rather special. It was the Premiere Release Event on Saturday for the highly anticipated release of Going Through The Motions (shown above).
Christ For The Nations Institute (Dallas, TX), Wabash Church (Auburn, WA) and Serve Seattle(Seattle, WA) participated in the nationwide event with groups of ten to twenty people each. Facilitators agreed that the small number of attendees benefitted the intimacy of the gatherings allowing for vulnerable and honest discussion regarding the film’s content.
I was incredibly blessed that a bible institute, church and non-profit partnered with the
‘I Refuse To Be A Cliché’ movement.
The following morning, Sunday the 25th, Maranatha Church of the Nazarene (Paramus, NJ) andFirst Baptist Church of Willingboro (Willingboro, NJ) hosted the event as well. Because of course, the east coast wanted in on the action. I had the pleasure of Skyping in live with Maranatha’s Youth Group, answering questions as I had similarly done previously with Wabash via a phone conference the night of the release.
There’s been no doubt that the message of living lukewarm, superficial lives (exposed in the narrative as wearing masks) has been relatable and challenging to the audience’s who have received it thus far.
You can join in on the movement too! You don’t need to be a Pastor, Youth Group leader or College Activities Coordinator. As long as you have access to Wifi and a means by which to watch the film as well as a venue to fit a number of participants, you’re good to go! We’d love to have you join the list of upcoming, possible future Hosts at our WEBSITE.
If you’re not comfortable with being a Host, then you can help the GTTM Team out simply by sharing the six minute narrative on social media, email or by word of mouth!
